Finding Battye Cottage, Holmfirth
From the North (M62)
Exit the M62 at Junction 24 and head towards Huddersfield on the A629. Follow the ring road and follow the signs for Holmfirth on the A616. After about 5miles, at Honley (the first main set of lights) take the right fork, (A6024) to Holmfirth
From the South (M1)
Leave the M1 at Junction 37 and follow the A628 (left) towards Penistone for 3.8 miles. At the main roundabout, turn right on to the A629 towards Huddersfield. Follow this road for 5 miles. As the road turns left and drops down to a junction by the Sovereign Inn (on your left), take the left turn on the A635 heading to Holmfirth. After 2 miles you reach New Mill, at a major junction, effectively go straight ahead staying on the A635 towards Holmfirth. After half a mile, passing the Sycamore Inn (on your right) 200 yards further on, take the right turn on to Heys Road. Battye Cottage is there just on your left.
